The boards seem kind of dead at the moment so I figure I will start things off by saying hi.
I have always enjoyed writing and have always wanted to be a writer, especially of comic books and I've decided to actually try my hand at it. Since I'm still new to this I probably have a lot to learn but I'm going to give it a go and will gladly listen to any advice.

i'm as guilty as anyone not posting often but i dont feel its my duty to post all the content here, in that case i shoulda just posted this stuff in my website ;)

Thanks. I will post a few samples when I get them finished. Script writing is kind of awkward for me as I'm use to writing short stories. I actually thought script writing would be easier, but it isn't. I either put in too much or too little detail/direction.

I found this site through another comic writer's resource page, and felt a bit sad by the lack of content. So, in an effort to help spur some interest, I've decided to join and see if some sort of dialogue can be achieved.

I've written in several different mediums, and have had some small success. As a life-long comic book fan, and having an artist at my disposal to bring my hideous creations to life, I've decided to try my hand at writing a comic book script.

Some of my favorite books are The Walking Dead, V for Vendetta, the Jim Shooter era Valiant titles(Archer & Armstrong being my favorite), and 30 Days of Night.

I would love to work with some different artists, and am open to writing any style of comic. I hope to hear from some of you soon.

Peter

Hey Peter glad to have you here.

I gotta tell ya i've been close to shutting this place down a couple times in the past few months but i know this place can succeed despite there being a bunch of art communities already you can never post your stuff in too many places, you never know who might be lurking.

I just wish this forum will kick off now and start by giving tip's and techniques other people are using. I want to share idea's and discuss the creation process of comics...the development of characters and how to go about it.

Guess I'll have to wait and see. :D

when you say "are you talking about "start by giving tip's and techniques other people are using" do you mean in the writing process (remember you are in the writers section) or on all levels of creating comics? If you are talking about drawing aspects, if yo ufind somethin gusefull that's not here post it. Help build the resources. I put up some links to some "how to" stuff in the "Tools of the Trade" forum.
